May 2024 Learning Blade Corner
Background: STEM/CS/CTE career awareness and preparation programs were developed by the creators of the ACT WorkKeys curriculum: KeyTrain and Career Ready 101. Learning Blade and Ready for Industry are now both fully funded by DESE and OWD and offered at no cost to all Missouri education organizations and workforce centers.
Ready for Industry is designed to provide in-depth career exploration and an industry foundation for 10th-grade through adult learners as they prepare for internships, apprenticeships, training, college, and entry-level positions in the manufacturing, healthcare, information technology, logistics, and construction industries. Ready for Industry consists of five 15-20 hour self-paced online courses, one for each industry. Students will receive certificates of completion, issued from OWD, for any course they successfully complete. Request your admin and instructor accounts at www.ReadyForIndustry.com/MO. Learning Blade is aligned to 5th-9th grade standards and provides students with online career and technology exploration and real-world application of academics. Educators also have access to high-quality supplemental lesson plans and activities that bring STEM/CS/CTE to life in the classroom. New for 2022 is a 20-hour Intro to Coding Course.
